Still Waiting: Maple Street Biscuit Company’s Arrival in Sharpsburg Delayed

Many residents are keeping a close watch on the Fischer Marketplace shopping center, awaiting progress on the new Maple Street Biscuit Company. Construction was originally expected to begin by the end of April 2025, but so far, there has been no visible build-out or official activity at the site.

The City Menus first reported the news back in January 2025, after development plans were submitted for a location at 4957 East Hwy 34 in Sharpsburg. The upcoming restaurant is set to occupy an endcap space in the new Publix-anchored Fischer Marketplace shopping center.

Despite early excitement surrounding the announcement, forward movement on the project appears to have stalled. According to a construction data tracker used by The City Menus, contractor bids were originally due on February 12, 2025 — a step that would have allowed a general contractor to be selected. As of now, that selection has not taken place.

With the anticipated construction start date now well behind schedule, questions remain about when the build-out will begin and what timeline the restaurant may be following.

Maple Street Biscuit Company is known for its hearty biscuit sandwiches, Southern-inspired comfort food, and strong community values. The Sharpsburg location, once completed, is expected to bring a welcome addition to the area’s growing dining scene.

The City Menus will continue monitoring the project and will share updates as they become available. We’ve made several attempts to collect additional information over the course of the last month, emails have not been returned.
