Demolition Complete: Whataburger Clears the Way for New Carrollton Location

Whataburger has officially begun prepping the site for its highly anticipated Carrollton location. The former BB&T building on US 27 at McIntosh Plaza, just north of the Carrollton Bypass, has now been completely demolished—clearing the way for construction to begin on one of Texas’ most iconic burger chains.

B92 Country was the first to break the news about the development back in 2023, sparking plenty of excitement among local residents. Since then, The City Menus has been keeping a close eye on the progress, and the latest milestone—the full demolition of the old building—marks a major step forward.

The upcoming Whataburger will take over the corner site within McIntosh Plaza, bringing its signature burgers, fries, and spicy ketchup to Carrollton. Known for its late-night hours and loyal fanbase across the South, Whataburger’s arrival is a welcome addition for burger lovers in the area.
