St. Vincent de Paul Georgia’s Thrift Store Now Open in Carrollton

St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) Georgia will celebrate the grand opening of its newest thrift store in Carrollton on Monday, March 23, inviting community members and local media to attend.

The new store will offer affordable clothing, furniture, household goods, and other thrift finds while providing  Carrollton residents a convenient place to donate gently used items. Proceeds from thrift store sales help fund  St. Vincent de Paul Georgia programs that address some of the most urgent needs facing families today, from

food assistance and housing support to the organization’s no-cost community pharmacy, which provides  prescription medications to uninsured and underinsured neighbors across the state.

St. Vincent de Paul Georgia Executive Director Mike Mies said the organization continues to see growing need  across the communities it serves.

“The reality is that the need continues to grow. Every week we see more neighbors who are doing everything  right but still struggling to keep up with rising housing, food, and healthcare costs. Our thrift stores allow the  community to be part of the solution. Donations and purchases help us turn everyday items into local support  for neighbors who need it.”

The new thrift store also builds on the long-standing service of the St. Vincent de Paul Conference at Our Lady of  Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Carrollton, whose members have been serving neighbors in the local  community for many years. The Carrollton store expands their impact in the area and strengthens the  organization’s ability to support families in need throughout West Georgia.

Items donated by the community are carefully sorted and priced for resale, creating affordable shopping  opportunities while generating funding that supports SVdP’s programs. Last year alone, SVdP’s eight thrift  stores generated more than $5.4 million in sales that directly supported aid and services for neighbors in need across the state. In addition, neighbors experiencing hardship may receive vouchers to obtain clothing,  furniture, and household essentials at no cost.
