In 2007, Ingles Markets purchased the land across the street from Bay Springs Middle School in Villa Rica. For the last few years the land has sat empty. Much of this is to blame on the housing crash of 2008. Originally Ingles was set to build a brand new store on this land in 2008. According to several open records on construction bidding websites, Ingles looks to be preparing for a new store here. The last update to the document was just before Thanksgiving of this year. The next last update was in 2008. So for 5 years the plans were completely halted. I would image Ingles would close the old store north of I-20 and relocate everyone to the new location, a few miles south of I-20 next to the V-Plex and across from Bay Springs. We were unable to successfully reach someone from real estate to comment. No time frame is set just yet. We will keep you updated.
