Wrapped in Angels Wings is a non-profit volunteer group that accepts dress donations (bridal & formal) and transform them into gowns and wraps for babies who don’t make it home from the hospital. Our displays will be featured in the Cultural Arts Room during the month of August at the Neva Lomason Library.
Our group is a group of volunteers who accept bridal gowns as well as formal gowns. The gowns are cleaned pressed and transformed into outfits for infants that don’t make it home from the hospital. Our goal is to help ease the burden that families face during this difficult time. We provide an outfit for their baby, a keepsake ornament, a wallet card for the babies footprints, a handmade stuffed bear , a small prayer quilt and a reflections book (for information about the baby or a grief journal).
We are going to be displaying some of the outfits (angel gowns & angel wraps) as well as the items that are included in the memory boxes. We will have samples of the bridal gowns and formal gowns that are accepted. The boxes are donated to the surrounding area hospitals. We have donated to Tanner in Carrollton and Villa Rica and we are in the process of distributing some to Piedmont hospital in Newnan. Details still pending about the Douglasville hospital.
We hope to raise awareness in the community. We feel it will help for the community to see what we are doing first hand as well as what is included in the boxes. It is unfortunate that there is a need for this but, we have a heavy heart for this and want to help as many families as possible during this loss. With the help of the community in donations we will be able to expand our reach.
