(January 4, 2018, Carrollton, Georgia). Central High School teachers were honored and surprised by Carroll EMC Foundation Trustees yesterday. Science teacher Jonathan Horsley, Math teachers Lyn Cole and Rebecca Smith, Spanish teacher Liz Beverly and Social Studies teacher Ed Cole received Bright Idea Grant awards totaling nearly $5,000.
Carroll EMC awards Bright Ideas grants to local teachers funding innovative and creative educational projects for their students. Grants of up to $1,000 are presented to public school educators, teaching grades pre-K through 12, for classroom-based projects in a variety of subjects. The Carroll EMC Foundation is funded by “round-up” change from members paying their monthly power bills. Carroll EMC Foundation Trustees Hannah Rodriquez, Cheryl Pollard, and Linell Schultz presented the awards to Central High School teachers.
