Big things are happening on Cedar Street! Liberty Eagle Academy: A Modern Montessori, serving infant through elementary aged students, will open the doors of their new campus soon! With exceptional growth, a supportive community of parents and classes filling up quickly, the excitement is soaring high as Liberty Eagle Academy’s new campus on Cedar Street inches closer to its grand opening!
You’ve heard the word Montessori before but what does it mean, and what makes Modern Montessori different? Dr. Harris comments, “Montessori is a child-centered approach that focuses on giving children the freedom to make choices within the limits of the classroom and materials. This encourages children to develop independence and responsibility.” Physicians Anna and Brent Harris, owners of Liberty Eagle Academy, founded the concept of Modern Montessori, which blends authentic Montessori with traditional teaching methods. This allows the best of both worlds to blend learning styles for the child. Teachers like it because it allows them more flexibility in teaching methods. For example, a math lesson may be understood by some children with flash cards but also solidified with a Montessori material that explains the concept.
Montessori communities are guided by teachers presenting hands-on lessons to children based on their abilities and interests. The modern Montessori environment and child-led community at Liberty Eagle Academy is enhanced by the passionate staff at the school. Each lead teacher of each class is either Montessori certified or actively working to complete their Montessori certification. Liberty Eagle Academy is the only Montessori in the county accredited by the state with quality through 6th grade and anticipates to add middle school grades by school year 2021-22.

Liberty Eagle Academy invites everyone in the community to come out for their annual Red, White & Blueberry 5K Trail Run and Free Tot Trot! The event will be June 29, and you can sign up here! Not a runner? Your child can still participate in the FREE Tot Trot, or you can just come and pick blueberries!
