Owners of Local Provisions specialty and wine market at 7 East Broad Street in Newnan recently sold the business. Just a few months ago, Laura and David Gabbard both spoke to The City Menus about the possibility of the future sale. Both Laura and David are very excited to move to a farm in North Carolina.
Laura tells us, “We sold the business to a couple who are opening a provisions store in Greensboro, Georgia. They bought all of our equipment, including shelving.”
As COVID-19 is affecting many businesses in the area with temporary closures, Local Provisions’ closure has been in the works for several months. Laura says, “The whole virus situation just sped up the closing date. We made the deal before all this hit.”
Local Provisions still has much of their wine inventory and a good bit of nonperishables left to sell before leaving the space. The store moved to 7 East Broad Street from their original location at 8 Jefferson Street a year ago. With the move, new products were offered such as Laura’s pimento cheese and the delicious Olive Confit. Both Laura and Dave send much love to their customers.
