    Carrollton to Host Georgia Military Officers of America Association Conference

    The local chapter of the Military Officers of America Association (MOAA) is gearing up to host the annual Georgia MOAA Conference September 14-16. Michael Washington, President of the McIntosh Trail Chapter of MOAA, said the local chapter is excited to be hosting this year’s event.

    Registration for the event will begin at 9:00 a.m. on September 14 at the Courtyard Marriott. The event will feature tours of the Southeastern Quilt Museum and the Trinka Davis Veterans’ Clinic. There will also be MOAA training sessions during the day, as well as a social gathering at the Courtyard Marriott beginning at 5:30 p.m. on September 14.

    Registration will open again at 9:00 a.m on September 15 at the Courtyard Marriott. A business meeting of MOAA members will be held at the hotel before a tour of the Veterans’ Equine Assistance Program Waypoint Ranch Tour, which will be held from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m.

    The Georgia MOAA banquet will be held the evening of September 15, beginning with a social at 6:00 p.m. before the banquet officially starts at 6:45 p.m.

    A memorial service will be held at the Carroll County Veterans Memorial Park at 9:00 a.m. on September 16.
