Community Chorus Presents ‘Bring Me Back to Carrollton’ Concert

The Carroll County Community Chorus returns to the Center for the Arts for its first performance in a year with the appropriately titled Bring Me Back to Carrollton spring concert, April 16-17.
“The spring concert for the chorus is centered around coming back home,” said Chorus Director Jack Gantt. “Several of the pieces have that theme.”

The concert features a genre-spanning song list, from country and spirituals to movie themes and showtunes. The show’s signature song, “Bring Me Back to Carrollton,” was written by local composer, Ed Hogan, who will join the chorus for the Friday evening show. In addition to songs written by Hogan, the concert will feature music by other composers, including Villa Rica native, Thomas A. Dorsey, the Father of Gospel Music.

“I am very proud of our Community Chorus,” said Arts Superintendent Tim Chapman. “This year’s spring concert will be different from any concert that they have had in the past. I know the audience will really enjoy it.”

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at https://cprcad.myboxoffice.us/, by phone at (770) 838-1083 or at the Center for the Arts box office at 251 Alabama Street in Carrollton.
