Coweta County Administrator Michael Fouts and Assistant Administrator Kelly Mickle provided a welcome and details on how the county was able to turn this recently rundown facility into our newest passive park. Commissioner Lassetter gave us a brief history on the park during its “heyday,” and how, with the support of fellow commissioners and administration and SPLOST funds, they were able to develop a plan for a renovated park that could serve another community within the county.
They even had the opportunity to meet with park users as they were out walking and testing out the fitness equipment. We hope the community of Welcome and others in Coweta County are able to make it out to 1792 Welcome Road to enjoy the facilities. Assistant Administrator Kelly Mickle teased we’d be seeing a brand new playground soon at the facility, so stay tuned!
