Becca Galate is a Carrollton local and owner of Becca Jams & Jellies, where she cultivated 63 flavors of homemade jams using decades of gardening and kitchen experience. Becca is passionate about homegrown products and the difference they can make in one’s life, “Just because it’s sweet doesn’t mean it’s bad for you, and just because it’s home-made doesn’t mean it’s too expensive.” With her lifetime of experiences in both family and small business, she makes for a perfect orchestrator of Southern Homestead Market.
Aside from the craft of jam making, Becca is driven by community, “Our community needs a reason to come together and have some old-fashioned fun.” Every Saturday afternoon from 1:00 to 5:00 at 750 Cedar Street, you can find Becca along with an array of other local and natural businesses at the Southern Homestead Market. No hidden fees or expenses such as parking or admission — you pay for what you take home, making it a good experience for both the vendor and the customer. Becca declares, “Without good vendors, I wouldn’t be here.” It is evident she cares for her fellow small-business owners and their shared missions.
On Saturday, October 5th, the weekly market is set to start two hours earlier (11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M..) to get a headstart on the fun. As always, there will be free admission and amazing vendors offering an array of goods from organic foods and home decor to accessories and all things in between. The Harvest Moon Bazaar hosts a cake walk, games, prizes, fall festivities and foods at its regular location of 750 Cedar Street. Join the crowd in downtown Carrollton to welcome autumn – there’s plenty to browse and nibble through! Click here for the Facebook link.
