Sandra Huey
Chairman Michelle Morgan is proud to announce the appointment of Sandra Huey as County Clerk for Carroll County. With over 20 years of experience as a Human Resources leader and trusted adviser, Huey brings a wealth of knowledge, professionalism, and dedication to public service.
Huey’s diverse background spans higher education, manufacturing, technology, healthcare, and financial services. Most recently, she served as the Classification and Compensation Manager for the University of West Georgia, where she was responsible for leading compensation planning, classification policy development, and organizational strategy. Her previous roles include Vice President of Human Resources at First Georgia Banking Company and Regional HR Manager at Georgia Banking Company, where she was instrumental in leading merger integrations and employee engagement initiatives.
Huey is a proud alumna of the University of West Georgia, holding a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership. She earned her PHR Certification in 2007 and maintains licenses in Life and Health Insurance/Annuities.
Beyond her impressive professional credentials, Huey is deeply invested in community service. She currently serves as Treasurer for the University of Alabama Alumni & Friends and as an Advisory Board Member for Carroll County CASA. A graduate of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Academy, she has held numerous civic leadership roles including, past president of the Carrollton Civic Woman’s Club (2024), CFMC Lay Leader (2022–present), and a member of the Dawn Breakers Rotary Club (2005–2023), where she also served as Administrator and Recording Secretary.
Huey’s commitment to children and families is evident in her long-standing service with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), where she has held roles as Vice Chair, Board Treasurer, and Advisory Board Member.
An active resident of Carroll County, Huey lives with her husband, Gilbert, and their dog, Coco. The couple are dedicated members of Carrollton First Methodist Church, where Huey has served as Sunday School Secretary and Lay Leader. Once an avid marathoner and 5K runner, she now enjoys weightlifting, playing pickleball, and competitive games of Mahjong.

Huey will officially begin her new role as County Clerk on August 4, 2025.
