Fong’s Asian Market, a Villa Rica favorite that opened in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, has permanently closed. What many customers first thought was the restaurant’s usual summer break has instead been confirmed as a closure, according to comments on the business’s Facebook page. Our team at The City Menus enjoyed numerous meals here and making incredible memories. We will truly miss them.
Fong’s quickly became known not only for its food but also for its resilience, opening in a difficult year when so many restaurants were struggling to survive. Its closing marks the end of a short but meaningful chapter in Villa Rica’s dining community.
In its place, a new restaurant is preparing to open. Villa Rica Steak N’ Seafood will take over the space at 219 W. Wilson Street. While details are still limited, the owner has confirmed plans to share more information soon, including the menu.
A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Monday, September 22, at 1:30 p.m. to officially welcome Villa Rica Steak N’ Seafood to downtown.
While the community says goodbye to Fong’s, there is also anticipation for what the new restaurant will bring to the table.
