The Gold Brick Hunt Returns to Villa Rica’s Gold Rush Festival

The thrill of the hunt is on in Downtown Villa Rica as the Gold Brick Hunt makes its exciting return during the 47th Annual Gold Rush Festival on Saturday, September 27.

From 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, festivalgoers can participate in the search for ten hidden gold bricks tucked away throughout downtown. These golden treasures might be found in local businesses, vendor booths, or within the festival’s vibrant Kid Zone. Anyone with a keen eye and a bit of luck could walk away with a sparkling prize—each gold brick is worth one hundred dollars in cash.

You won’t need to dig or lift anything to find a brick. All ten will be hidden in plain sight and visible to the eye. Participants are encouraged to be respectful of businesses, vendors, and their displays. No need to search through merchandise or move objects—just look carefully and enjoy the fun.

To keep things fair and friendly, only one gold brick may be claimed per family. If you’re lucky enough to find one, bring it straight to the Main Street Info Tent to claim your prize.

And the excitement doesn’t stop there. In the days leading up to the festival, an additional four gold bricks will be hidden around downtown during the official “Week of Gold Rush.” Clues for those bricks will be shared on Facebook, so be sure to follow along and stay alert—those hidden treasures could be anywhere.

This community tradition adds a playful and rewarding element to the Gold Rush festivities, drawing neighbors and visitors alike into a shared celebration of curiosity and local spirit.

The Gold Brick Hunt is made possible thanks to the generous support of local sponsors, including Los Cowboys, Amy Brown State Farm, Main Street Mercantile, Villa Rica Nutrition, 926 West, Brandon Swafford, and Kait Swafford.
