The West Georgia Technical College Foundation (WGTC Foundation) is honored to announce a transformative $1 million gift from Eric Bressner in memory of his father, Stanley H. Bressner, a respected innovator, entrepreneur, U.S. Army veteran, and founder of Alum-A-Lift.
Stanley “Stan” Bressner, who passed away in 2021, built a remarkable legacy of hard work, ingenuity, and service. In 1989, he founded Alum-A-Lift, pioneering ergonomic lifting solutions that continue to be recognized worldwide. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Stan was a devoted husband, father, and mentor who believed deeply in education, community, and creating opportunities for future generations.
The donation will establish new endowments, advance capital projects, and strengthen workforce initiatives across all WGTC campuses. The Stanley H. Bressner Family Scholarship will provide support for students pursuing careers in manufacturing and skilled trades such as welding and machining. The gift will also fund the Spark the Flame Welding Initiative at the new Murphy Industrial Building on the Waco Campus, expand healthcare programs and create the emPOWERer Center at the Douglasville Campus, and establish endowments for Adult Education, Project Care, and other workforce development initiatives.
“This is a remarkable tribute to Mr. Bressner’s vision and values,” said Brittney Wells, Executive Director of the WGTC Foundation. “His legacy will live on through thousands of students whose futures are made brighter by this gift. We are deeply grateful to Eric Bressner and his family for entrusting us with this honor.”
In recognition of this generous support, WGTC’s new industrial facility under construction at the Waco Campus will be named the Stanley H. Bressner Industrial Technology Building, with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony planned for 2026 to officially dedicate the building and celebrate Stan Bressner’s lasting legacy.
“This extraordinary generosity will have both immediate and lasting impact,” said West Georgia Technical College President Dr. Julie Post. “By supporting scholarships, workforce training, and modern facilities, the Bressner family is ensuring that Stan’s spirit of innovation and service continues to shape our communities for generations to come.”
