College Board recognizes several Central High School students

Adrian Posivenko

College Board, home of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT), has recognized Central High School senior Adrian Posivenko as a semi-finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Seniors Sandra Rivera, Max Kubik, and Addison Smith were selected as Commended National Merit Scholars.

Students entered the National Merit Scholarship Program, a nationwide competition for recognition and awards conducted by National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), by taking the Preliminary SAT or NMSQT in the fall. College Board reaches more than 7 million students a year, helping them navigate the path from high school to college and career. The not-for-profit membership organization was founded more than 120 years ago. College Board pioneered programs like the SAT and Advanced Placement (AP) to expand opportunities for students and help them develop the skills they need. The BigFuture program helps students plan for college, pay for college, and explore careers.

Adrian hopes to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology and earn a degree in Mechatronics, the study of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and robotics.
