The Carrollton Parks and Recreation Department announces the return of the Run Carrollton Race Series, starting May 9.
The series features four races over the course of the year covering a range of distances.
First in the line-up is the Pavement to Park Trail Race, May 9. The race starts at 8am and utilizes both the GreenBelt and the new mountain bike trails. Pavement to Park features 3K ($25) and 5K ($35) distances.
The series continues this summer with Guns n’ Hoses, July 18. This race will start at 7am and will feature two ($25) and four ($35) mile distances. Participants will support the city’s first responders, the Carrollton Police and Fire departments, by choosing either blue for police or red for fire to represent in the race.
September 26 will bring the biggest race of Carrollton’s year, the Carrollton Half Marathon. As in the past, the Half will start at 7:15am on Adamson Square in downtown Carrollton.
Closing the series – appropriately on Halloween – will be the Running Dead Road Race, October 31 at 8am. Runners are encouraged to dress in Halloween gear for the 5K ($35) and 10K ($45) races which include a run through the city cemetery. Running Dead is sponsored by Keep Carroll Beautiful.
