A large new gas station and convenience store is currently under construction at the corner of Ridge Road and GA 61 (Villa Rica Highway) in the New Georgia area, directly in front of the Publix at Village at New Georgia. The site had sat partially developed for several years before work recently resumed. During a recent visit to the location, workers on site confirmed the project is indeed a gas station, with underground fuel tanks now being installed. The development has long been rumored by locals to potentially become a BP or Shell, though an official brand has not yet been announced. The new station will join another similar gas station located nearby at Ridge Road and Vaughn Road as commercial growth continues along the rapidly developing Ridge Road corridor.
