The Governor’s Honors Program is a residential summer program for gifted and talented high school students who are rising juniors or seniors during the program. The program offers instruction that is designed to provide students with academic, cultural, and social enrichment necessary to become the next generation of global critical thinkers, innovators, and leaders.
Isabella is a member of Winter Guard, Beta Club, the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society and has earned the University of Georgia Certificate of Merit, an honor reserved for the top 10% of the class. In addition, she is a Junior Marshal for the Class of 2026 graduation.
Outside of school Isabella has been part of a research project with the Southern Arizona Research, Science and Engineering Fair. Before coming to Central High School, she was recognized for academics and her skills in Spanish by the Mexican American Student recognition program along with being an ambassador for the University of Arizona in the area of translation for the high school and college fairs.
She serves as a middle schools’ youth group leader at Chapel Hill church in Douglasville and aspires to be a material science engineer in the future. Central High School Principal Mr. Kelly Edwards had this to say about Isabella, “We are extremely excited for Isabella. Her hard work and dedication are to be admired. She is a wonderful, well-rounded student and we are proud she is a Lion! Congratulations on a well-deserved honor!”
