Central High School’s Max Kubik named Georgia Scholar

Central High School senior Max Kubik has been named a 2026 Georgia Scholar by the Georgia State Department of Education.

The Georgia Department of Education is recognizing 162 graduating seniors across Georgia as 2026 Georgia Scholars, State School Superintendent Richard Woods announced today. Through the Georgia Scholar program, GaDOE identifies and honors high school seniors who have achieved excellence in school and community life. Each honoree receives a seal for their diploma along with a graduation cord to recognize their achievement.

“Congratulations to the 162 students recognized as Georgia Scholars this year, “Superintendent Woods said. “These students exemplify excellence in academics, leadership, and service. I’m proud to celebrate their achievements and confident they will continue making a positive difference in their communities and beyond.”

Georgia Scholars carry exemplary course loads throughout their four years of high school, demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, actively participate in school and community activities, and serve as leaders in extracurricular and service organizations.

Max is Central High School’s STAR Student, has excelled academically with numerous honors including AP Scholar with Distinction, AP Rural and Small Town Scholar, Questbridge Scholar, UGA Certificate of Merit, Georgia Tech STEPS program, and the STARS Fly-In at University of Chicago. He made a perfect score on the ACT. Kubik has been part of the swim team, math team, Science Olympiad, Academic Team, Chess Club and Beta Club, among others.

He is a member of Georgia School Superintendent Richard Woods’s Student Advisory Council. Kubik has received a full scholarship to Emory University where he plans to dual major in Neuroscience and Public Health. His parents are Stephen and Brook Kubik.
