Carrollton is getting a fresh new flavor with the upcoming opening of Unique Haitian Cuisine at 1027 Maple Street in Carrollton, across from Hays Mill Road. The new restaurant is moving into the former home of Solo Caribbean Food Bar and Grill and promises to bring authentic Haitian cooking to the area.
The menu is expected to feature traditional favorites like Griot, a popular Haitian dish made with fried pork, along with fried red snapper, plantains, and pikliz, the spicy pickled vegetable relish often served alongside classic meals. The restaurant is also expected to blend Haitian and Caribbean influences, giving customers something a little different from the usual options around town.
Unique Haitian Cuisine is currently undergoing interior renovations as it prepares to open its doors. Once open, listed hours are Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., with extended hours Friday and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.
