Carroll County NAACP Announces Juneteenth Celebrations Starting this Weekend

The Carroll County NAACP Branch #5179B invites the community to take part in two special Juneteenth events celebrating freedom, heritage, resilience, and unity.

The first event, the Juneteenth Jubilee Celebration, will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Carrollton. The evening will feature worship, music, inspiration, and reflection as attendees come together to honor the significance of Juneteenth and celebrate the enduring spirit of freedom, faith, and community.

The celebration continues with the Juneteenth Freedom Festival on Saturday, June 20, 2026. The day will begin with a Freedom Parade at 11:00 a.m., starting at Mighty Moore’s Chapel Church, located at 120 N. Park Street in Carrollton. Following the parade, the Freedom Festival will take place at Optimist Park, located at 117 Hendrix Drive.

Festival attendees can enjoy live music, a car show, awards, vendors, food, community resources, and family-friendly activities throughout the day.

Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and serves as a reminder of the ongoing pursuit of freedom, equality, opportunity, and justice for all.

The Carroll County NAACP welcomes local businesses, churches, nonprofits, civic organizations, fraternities, sororities, car clubs, community leaders, and residents from across Carroll County and beyond to participate. Churches, businesses, civic groups, nonprofits, youth organizations, and community groups are also encouraged to register for the Freedom Parade.

All events are open to the public, and everyone is welcome. Community members are encouraged to help spread the word and join in honoring history, celebrating progress, and building a brighter future for Carroll County.

The Carroll County NAACP Branch #5179B invites everyone to come together in celebration and service under its guiding motto: “Don’t Talk About It, Be About It!”
