A new hospitality development is under consideration for Oxford, Alabama, directly behind the Oxford Exchange, according to construction documents. Plans call for a StudioRes by Marriott, an extended-stay hotel concept designed primarily for guests staying two weeks or longer.
StudioRes properties typically feature furnished studio rooms with queen beds, dedicated work areas and kitchens equipped with a stovetop, full-size refrigerator and microwave. The Marriott brand also offers amenities such as guest laundry facilities, fitness space, vending areas and pet-friendly accommodations. Marriott’s standard StudioRes prototype includes approximately 124 rooms, although the size and final details of the proposed Oxford location have not yet been confirmed.
The photo below shows the recently opened StudioRes by Marriott at 121 Timberwolf Drive in LaGrange, near Great Wolf Lodge. Another StudioRes location recently opened near Bullsboro Drive in Newnan off Celebrate Life Pwy.
A TownePlace Suites by Marriott also opened in the same general area of Oxford a few months ago. More information about the proposed StudioRes hotel will be shared as it becomes available.
