The Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea will bring their acclaimed mariachi sound to the Carrollton Center for the Arts, October 30 at 7:30pm.
“Part of what makes live performance so special is the opportunity to experience something you simply can’t get anywhere else,” said Arts Center Manager Tory Kimbrell. “The Mariachi Divas bring that in spades – world-class musicianship, infectious energy and a performance that promises to be anything but ordinary.”
Founded in 1999 by trumpeter and bandleader Cindy Shea, the Los Angeles-based, all-female ensemble is celebrating 27 years of performing and expanding the mariachi tradition. The group has earned 11 Grammy nominations and two Grammy Awards, released 22 full-length albums and serves as the official mariachi band of the Disneyland Resort. The special seasonal concert features music inspired by Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).
Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for youth, and are available online at carrolltonarts.com and at the center’s box office. The concert is sponsored by Brett Baxley.
