Harvest Dinner Announcement

The 2023 Harvest Dinner, a cherished tradition in Carroll County, is set to take place on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. at the Carroll County Agriculture-Education Center (900 Newnan Road, Carrollton, GA 30117). Hosted by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce and Carroll County Agribusiness Council, this event celebrates the essential connections between agriculture and local businesses.

Highlighting the invaluable partnerships between the agriculture industry and local businesses, the Harvest Dinner recognizes the dedication of the agriculture community and bestows prestigious awards upon outstanding leaders. The evening’s culinary experience, skillfully prepared by Ryan Ayers with Young Farmers, will showcase locally sourced, farm-fresh ingredients.

This year, we are honored to welcome Vernon “Shorty” Hochstetler as our guest speaker. Mr. Hochstetler is the founder of Schwarzerde LLC, a company with over 20 years of experience and mentorship from prominent figures in agriculture. Schwarzerde LLC operates a beef cattle Seed-Stock business, emphasizing grazing and hay production and supplying seed-stock throughout the USA and Canada. Mr. Hochstetler’s contributions extend to the “Schwarzerde Bull Test,” an all-forage test designed to benefit breeders’ networks and offer true value in bulls.
