Dr. Albert Zink, Head of the Institute for Mummy Studies (Bozen, Italy) and one of the most renowned mummy researchers in the world, will speak about Ötzi, the 5300-year-old mummy discovered in the Tyrolean Alps in 1991. This being one of the most exciting archaeological discoveries of the 20th century, his visit here will provide a unique opportunity to hear more about a moment in time, frozen in ice about 5000 years ago. His presentation will include a question-and-answer session. The Distinguished Waring Lecture Series is a yearly event organized through the UWG Anthropology Program and is funded by the Antonio J. Waring Jr. Endowment. The event is free and open to the public.
