School of Rock Comes to Center for The Arts

Class is back in session in Teen Theatre’s School of Rock, July 28-31 at the Carrollton Center for the Arts.

“I’m privileged to work with such a multi-talented cast,” said the show’s director, David Pippin, who is a musician, music teacher and owner of Pippin Music Academy. “This musical definitely embodies the spirit and heart of rock and roll.”

Based on the 2003 film starring Jack Black and with a score by Andrew Lloyd Webber, School of Rock follows slacker guitarist Dewey Finn as he turns a class of straight A students into budding rock stars. In addition to acting, singing and dancing, the cast members also play their own instruments.

School of Rock follows in the Center for the Arts’ tradition of ending their summer programming with a Teen Theatre musical. The center’s summer theme this year was Altogether Rockin’.

This show is sponsored by Oak Mountain Academy.

Tickets are $15 ($10 youth) and are available online at carrolltonarts.com, by phone at 770-838-1083 and at the center’s box office at 251 Alabama Street in Carrollton.
