Disconnecting and enjoying the outdoors can be very therapeutic and refreshing, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Earthly Outfitters is here to help people achieve that goal.
Due to open at the beginning of August with a Grand Opening scheduled for August 6 at 9:00 a.m., Earthly Outfitters will be here to help the community get geared up for trips camping, kayaking, hiking, and much more! Boasting an expansive showroom, top-of-the-line kayaks and other watercraft, tents, camping cookware, and all the essentials and accessories, there is almost everything one could need to make the most out of their outdoor trip.
“I grew up in the 80s, and I remember when I was a child we spent all of our time outside,” said owner Alan Sanders. “Today kids have no idea what disconnecting and connecting with nature feels like. So many of us Gen Xers remember that freedom and outdoor experiences provided for us.”
There are a number of great places locally for outdoor explorers to visit. There is Little Tallapoosa Park, Chattahoochee Bend State Park, as well as Bush Head Shoals, all which are great spots for camping, hiking, and boating. The best part about camping and being outdoors? “You HAVE to be disconnected because a lot of these places don’t have cell service,” said Sanders. “It is a great way to live in the moment and not through a smartphone screen. People nowadays don’t know what ‘being in the moment’ actually means. Just turn it off and put it away for a while.”
Sanders and his wife, Brandi, are thrilled to open their doors and welcome guests into their shop. The soft target opening date for Earthly Outfitters is the beginning of August, but it could come sooner or later depending on inventory. “We already have a lot of our shipments in, but we are still waiting for some kayaks and a few other items to come in to make sure our shelves and racks are fully stocked for our customers. It is just a matter of time before all that comes in,” Sanders explained.
Earthly Outfitters will be located at 409 Maple Street in the location of the former Don Rich Ford. The car dealership now located in Villa Rica has over 50 years in business, and the historic building on Maple Street near the Maple Street Mansion will now house another business to serve the locals of Carrollton.
