The LaGrange Fire Department is hosting its 2022 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb Challenge Saturday, September 10th, 10:00 a.m. at the LaGrange High School Sports Complex.
The public is invited to join the LaGrange Fire Department for the 2022 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb Challenge. The entry fee is $25 and includes a 9/11 tribute t-shirt. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. All proceeds will go to the Terry Farrell Firefighter Fund.
All participants will run 110 stadium steps up and 110 stadium steps down at the LaGrange High School Sports Complex. There were 110 flights of stairs in the Twin Towers. During the event, radio traffic from 9/11 will be played.
LFD Chief John Brant says it’s important we never forget the events of that day. “We are just grateful that we can honor those brave men and women that gave their lives bravely on that tragic day. Doing this stair climb is just a small gesture to ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten,” said Brant. “Brave men and women risk their lives every day to ensure the safety of others and I believe this is one of the many events in which we can show our gratitude.”
