The Birches on Maple in Carrollton describes itself as a first-class senior living community, yet beyond the Birches, Maple Street along with Maple Street Commons have even more to offer future residents and visitors. Soon an additional commercial center will be added to the area.

“The commercial center is in final stages of design development and initial marketing to the retail community,” says Josh Chapman, President and Partner at Linco Companies. “Our intent is to have two multi-tenant buildings with a mix of restaurant, retail, and service businesses.” He adds that the focus will be “on retail opportunities that will enhance the overall quality of life at The Birches and surrounding areas.”

“Our hope is that each of these tenants provides conveniences to the surrounding community that help us ‘Get Healthy, Live Well,’ Chapman continues. “The entire project will be accessible as code requires that of all public spaces. Our goal is to appeal to the active community and that encompasses a pretty wide market.”

The current Maple Street Commons shopping center, neither more than a five- minute drive nor a 10- minute bike ride from The Birches community, is “fully leased and continues to be a strong retail destination for the west side of Carrollton,” adds Chapman. Residents can expect the Food Depot at the Maple Street Commons to stay for at least the next few years as the lease expires in 2028, according to Ben Garrett, Principal and Partner at Linco Companies.

The Birches living community aims to offer a range of amenities for its residents including, “a 20- yard indoor lap pool, as well as an outdoor free form pool,” said Lori Camp, realtor at Linco Reality. There will also be a full service restaurant with a chef, walking trails, two pickleball courts, a dog park, a community garden, a full fitness center, an arts and crafts room, and a library.

Other conveniences include City Station, the University of West Georgia, and access to the Carrollton Greenbelt.

The teams that have worked on this project look forward to “the opportunity to bring quality retail options to the area that West Georgia is missing,’ says Chapman.
