Support the Next Generation: Community Service Team Scholarship & Grant Presentation

As we reflect on the recent accomplishments of the Coweta Community Foundation’s Community Service Team (CST) at our 2024 year-end celebration, we are reminded of the remarkable journey that began in 2015.

Originating in 2015, the Community Service Team emerged as a beacon of hope and opportunity for ninth and tenth graders in Coweta County. With a vision to educate and empower young leaders, the CST embarked on a mission to familiarize its members with the nonprofits shaping our community’s landscape. Through immersive experiences and hands-on engagement, these budding philanthropists learned the importance of service and community involvement.

Operating as a cohesive board, members of the Community Service Team forged meaningful relationships with local nonprofits, laying the foundation for collaborative endeavors and lasting impact. The CST’s overarching goal was clear: to cultivate a generation of compassionate leaders equipped with the skills and knowledge to effect positive change.

In light of this journey, we are thrilled to celebrate the remarkable achievements of two individuals who embody the spirit of the CST—Kate Harris and Chad Staples.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Northgate High School senior Kate Harris for being awarded the prestigious 2024 Community Service Team Scholarship. Kate’s dedication and commitment to community service have been exemplary, reflected in her years of service on the CST. She has not only served as a valuable member but also held the position CST President last year. Her passion for community is truly inspiring, and we are excited to see her continue to make a positive impact in her academic and professional pursuits.

Additionally, we are delighted to announce that the 2024 CST Nonprofit Grant has been awarded to Chad Staples of More Music Foundation. More Music Foundation is dedicated to providing music education programs to at-risk youth, fostering community through the universal language of music. Chad’s remarkable journey and commitment to serving the Newnan community through music education exemplify the spirit of philanthropy and community engagement that the CST aims to instill in its members.

Reflecting on the CST’s journey since 2015, it’s clear they’ve made a significant impact. You can support the next generation by donating here for the class of 2024-2025.
