The local retail landscape has shifted as Big Lots and Bargain Hunt held their final day of operations yesterday, February 24. Both stores are now officially closed in Newnan, following a bankruptcy sale that impacted their local presence.
While this marks the end of an era for shoppers who frequented these stores for deals and discounts, there’s hope on the horizon—especially for Big Lots fans. According to a recent press release from Gordon Brothers, the company has completed the purchase of Big Lots and helped facilitate the closing sale. This move could pave the way for Big Lots to rebound in the future.
Though Newnan shoppers will miss these familiar retailers for now, the potential comeback of Big Lots remains a possibility. Carrollton’s Big Lots has also closed.
