Carrollton Half Marathon Returns September 27

The sixth running of the Carrollton Half Marathon will take place on September 27.

“We’re so excited to celebrate the sixth Carrollton Half Marathon,” said Race Director Tyler Woodard. “We can’t wait to see our community hit the pavement. This isn’t just a race. It’s a celebration of fitness, fun and the incredible spirit of our city. Whether you’re aiming for a personal best or just want to enjoy a beautiful run with friends, we’ll be there to cheer you on every step of the way to that unforgettable finish line.”

The Half Marathon’s 13.1-mile course starts at Adamson Square, then takes runners through the city and along the shaded, rolling hills of the GreenBelt. The course includes sections that are intended to showcase more of Carrollton’s scenery. Runners will enjoy music and food at the Amp after crossing the finish line.

“This marks our sixth year partnering with the Carrollton Half Marathon and it’s something we look forward to each year,” said Tonya Fulks, outreach operations manager for Tanner Health’s Get Healthy, Live Well. “The race has become a tradition that celebrates wellness and community pride. We value our partnership with the City of Carrollton and West Georgia Track Club and are grateful for their role in making this a premier event for our community.”

The packet pickup expo will be held at the Depot on Bradley the day before the race, September 26, from 12 – 6pm.

“The West Georgia Track Club is excited to co-host another running of The Carrollton Half,” said WGTC President Amber Nixon. “This race has grown and it’s exciting to see the momentum it brings to the start of race season each year. We are enthusiastically invested in our community where we live, work – and run.”

WGTC provides a certified coach’s training plan for free to its members for the 16 weeks prior to the race and offers a $10 discount to members. The club also hosts weekly group runs on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Individual or relay team registration includes a Carrollton Half Marathon t-shirt, finisher’s medal and free food and drink tickets for the post-race festivities. The West Georgia Track Club will award cash prizes to the first, second and third place overall male and female runners, who will also receive a commemorative gift and exclusive race hoodie. First place male and female in the Masters category will be presented with a commemorative gift. The top three in each age group and top three teams in the relay categories will receive a commemorative gift. All finishers will be given a finisher’s medal.

The half marathon’s start time is 7:15 a.m. and will be held rain or shine.
