RaLin Construction is proud to share that Project Engineer Zaida Bustamante was honored by the Georgia Senate through the passage of Senate Resolution 583, introduced by State Senator Tim Bearden of District 30. The resolution was presented on Friday, March 13, recognizing Bustamante’s perseverance, leadership, and commitment to building a better future for her family and community.
Bustamante’s journey reflects the determination and resilience that define the people who build our communities every day. A first-generation college graduate, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Kennesaw State University while working full time and raising three children alongside her husband. Her story is one of steady dedication and belief in the power of opportunity, even when the path forward requires extraordinary effort.
“Raising three kids while going to college and working a full-time job, Zaida is an inspiration to everyone,” said State Senator Tim Bearden. “Her story shows people that anything can be accomplished through hard work.”
During her time at Kennesaw State, Bustamante demonstrated leadership within the construction community. She served as president of the Associated General Contractors student chapter and as treasurer of Kennesaw Women in Construction, supporting programs that encourage and empower women pursuing careers in the industry.
Bustamante now brings that same commitment and work ethic to her role as a Project Engineer at RaLin, where she helps support the teams and projects that shape communities across the region. She is also continuing her education and is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the University of West Georgia.
“I am deeply grateful for this recognition,” said Bustamante. “My journey has been possible because of the support of my family, my colleagues, and the mentors who encouraged me along the way. I hope my story reminds others that it is never too late to pursue your goals and build something meaningful for yourself and your family.”
At RaLin, Bustamante’s recognition is a reflection of the people behind the work and the shared belief that building goes beyond structures.
“We are incredibly proud of Zaida and the example she sets,” said Terrence Youmans, Chief People Officer at RaLin. “Our company was built on the belief that what we build is bigger than any one project. We build up people, create pathways to opportunity, and strengthen the communities we are proud to serve. Zaida’s story is a powerful reflection of what is possible when determination meets support from family, colleagues, and community, and Senator Bearden’s resolution makes that impact visible in a really meaningful way.”
RaLin congratulates Bustamante on this well-deserved honor and celebrates the determination and leadership that continue to inspire those around her.
