Jack Lenaeus receives GADOE Award of Excellence

The Georgia Department of Education recognized Carrollton High School senior Jack Lenaeus during an awards presentation April 30 in Atlanta. Jack received an Award of Excellence, presented by Georgia State School Superintendent Richard Woods, for high academic achievement, participation in extracurricular activities, and plans for the future.

As the winner for the West Georgia RESA district, which includes Carroll, Coweta, Harris, Heard, Meriwether, Troup and Coweta counties, Jack was deemed a model of excellence both in and out of the classroom. From his daily weather report on the morning broadcast to his guest appearances on the district’s sports-radio show, Jack has become one of the most recognizable and beloved personalities at Carrollton High School.

A friend to all, Jack has remained a committed member of the CHS Performing Arts program, including participating in choral and theatrical productions, while maintaining a strong academic record. Upon graduation, he plans to attend the University of West Georgia and work as a Project SEARCH intern.

This honor from the GADOE reflects what many at CHS already knew to be true of his unwavering commitment to personal growth and determination to be a positive contributor, no matter the task at hand.

“Jack’s passion, dedication, and vibrant personality have made a lasting impact on Carrollton High School,” said CCS Director of Student Services Mary Raburn, who nominated Jack for this award. “He has left a legacy that will not soon be forgotten, and there is no doubt that his future is incredibly bright.”
