West Georgia Technical College (WGTC) proudly welcomed Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Commissioner Greg Dozier to its Douglasville Campus last week. During his visit, Commissioner Dozier met with college leadership, engaged with students, and toured instructional areas. The visit provided an opportunity for WGTC to showcase its programs, highlight student success, and discuss shared goals for the future of technical education in Georgia.
Commissioner Dozier met with WGTC President Dr. Julie Post and members of the college’s senior leadership team for a comprehensive briefing on institutional updates, enrollment trends, and strategic priorities. The conversation emphasized WGTC’s role in advancing workforce development and meeting the evolving needs of local industries.
Joining the discussion were key community partners Chris Pumphrey, President of Elevate Douglas, and Blake Doss, Director of State Government Affairs at GreyStone Power. Their involvement reflected the strong partnerships WGTC has built with local industry and community leaders.
As part of the visit, Commissioner Dozier joined a group of outstanding student leaders for lunch, including members of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), WGTC Ambassadors, Google Immersion Internship participants, Metallica Scholars, and Microsoft Scholars. Students shared their personal experiences and discussed how WGTC programs have supported their educational and career goals.
Following the presentation and lunch, Commissioner Dozier toured the campus, visiting labs and classrooms to gain firsthand insight into the college’s commitment to high-quality, hands-on learning.
“We were honored to welcome Commissioner Dozier to WGTC and to showcase the incredible work happening on our campuses,” said WGTC President Dr. Julie Post. “His visit affirms our shared mission of preparing students for in-demand careers and strengthening our communities through education.”
