Celebrating Two Years on West College Street, Kudzu Creative Designs Continues to Bloom in Bowdon

Kudzu Creative Designs has become more than a floral shop in Bowdon. Over the past two years at its West College Street location, the business has grown into a creative community space filled with flowers, plants, handmade goods, and locally crafted products that reflect the charm of small-town shopping.

Owner Susan Jennings has spent years building the business, first working from a design studio beginning in 2014, then operating from a smaller storefront, and finally moving into the current location. With the expanded space, she has been able to reshape the store into something customers can truly experience.

Recently, the shop underwent a redesign inside to create a larger checkout area and a dedicated floral design table where customers can watch arrangements come together in real time. The open setup also creates opportunities for future workshops and hands-on events.

One of the newest additions is the Flower Bar, which recently made its debut around Mother’s Day and was met with an enthusiastic response from the community. Customers were invited to create their own bouquets by selecting flowers individually, giving them the chance to be creative and design something personal. Inspired by the feel of traditional European flower markets, the Flower Bar is expected to pop up on select Fridays throughout the season.

The Flower Bar is not limited to the storefront either. Kudzu Creative Designs also offers mobile Flower Bar rentals for businesses, events, and private gatherings. Local companies have already used the experience for employee appreciation events and Mother’s Day activities, allowing guests to create custom bouquets to take home.

Beyond its fresh flowers, the shop has become known for supporting local makers and small businesses from Carroll County and across America. Customers browsing the store will find handcrafted soaps, candles made from locally sourced beeswax, shower steamers, salves, crocheted items, and specialty gifts.

One standout product is the collection of handmade muscle and joint relief butters crafted with essential oils. Jennings says the products are especially helpful during the busy wedding season when floral work becomes physically demanding. Other wellness items include shower steamers designed for relaxation or congestion relief.

The store also carries products from State Line Farms in Bowdon, including tallow-based skincare items and healing salves made with natural ingredients. Local artisan Stephanie Cater of Purple Door Studio contributes crocheted pieces, while Nana’s Pickles from nearby Bremen have quickly become some of the shop’s most talked-about offerings.

Kudzu Creative Designs also features a growing gourmet section stocked with freeze-dried candies from Little Byrd Freeze Dried Perfections, along with pickles, ice cream bars, and other unique treats that customers often cannot find elsewhere.

Plants have become another important part of the shop’s identity. Customers can choose from succulents, green plants, blooming plants, and seasonal favorites like hydrangeas. Jennings says plants often carry a deeper meaning for customers looking for lasting gifts during important life moments.

For memorials and funerals, many families choose living plants that can later be planted outdoors as a lasting tribute. Others purchase plants or trees to celebrate the birth of a child or other milestones, creating something that can continue to grow for years to come.

While the shop has expanded into gifts and specialty products, floral design remains at the heart of Kudzu Creative Designs. The business continues to provide fresh flower arrangements and local delivery throughout Carroll County and nearby communities including Carrollton, Ranburne, Ephesus, Bremen, Graham, and Woodland. Arrangements are available for every occasion, from birthdays and anniversaries to weddings, memorials, and everyday celebrations.
