Newnan’s Whataburger Opened August 9
Hold onto your hats, Newnan! Whataburger is spicing up the scene and opening its newest Atlanta-area location on August 9 with drive-thru service only at 580 Bullsboro Dr. Convenience and deliciousness come together with this fifth and newest location, bringing up to 115 local jobs and fresh, mouth-watering eats to the area. In the coming weeks, guests will have the option to dine inside, order online or opt for curbside pickup – all designed to make the Whataburger experience more convenient and enjoyable than ever.
Endless Breadsticks Coming to Newnan, Construction Equipment Arrives
Just typing this out is making my mouth water: Endless breadsticks are indeed coming to Newnan. Currently the City of Newnan is reviewing plans for a Fazoli’s restaurant at the corner of Torreo Trail and Bullsboro Drive, which is directly across the street from Eastgate Shopping Plaza/Food Depot/Bargain Hunt.
O’Charley’s Closes Another Location
A major restaurant chain that has closed several locations very recently in our coverage area is set to close another one. The City Menus discovered over the weekend that the Carrollton O’Charley’s, located at 1591 U. S. Highway 27 in front of Lowe’s, is set to close its doors permanently on Wednesday, October 25.Â
Whataburger Site Design Plans Under Review for Carrollton
Carrollton is getting a Whataburger! According to the City of Carrollton, Whataburger has submitted civil plans for review. The proposed location is the former BB&T building at 1119 South Park Street. This is an outparcel of the Target/Belk/Publix-anchored McIntosh Plaza.
Villa Rica Business and Construction Updates
There are multiple construction projects ongoing near the Super 8 on Commerce Drive in Villa Rica. Jeff Matthews is lead on the projects, which were originally discussed and approved in the November 2019 city council meeting. According to the minutes of that meeting the city reviewed an annexation and rezoning application for 135 and 190 commerce Drive to rezone it to multi-family residential (R-14) as requested by Parkside Real Estate Acquisitions, L.L.C.
Outparcel Businesses Arriving Soon to Publix at Villa Rica Town Center
The city of Villa Rica recently provided us a list of new outparcel businesses under construction at Fuqua’s Publix development. Currently a Dunkin’ and Smoothie King are under construction. Soon Wendy’s, Mavis Tire, Chase Bank, Circle K, and Tidal Wave Auto Spa will also join the outparcel spaces of the new shopping center.

Childhood Best Friends Opening Their Dream Store in Carrollton
Best of friends, Michael and Clayton recently celebrated their grand opening of Into the Void Finds on September 16. The store has a large selection of random finds such as name-brand clothing, vintage electronics, collectables, home decor, shoes, and anything else you might be searching for.
New Speakeasy to Open in Downtown Newnan
Don’t keep it on the low because a new speakeasy, The Pharmacy, has sneaked into Historic Downtown Newnan and will hold its grand opening this Friday July 14, with a soft opening on Wednesday July 12. In the same building as the Mad Mexican, the entrance to this speakeasy is tucked in an alleyway behind it.Â
Ashley Park Phase Three Construction Well Underway, First Retailer Just Announced
New businesses are underway as the Ashley Park Project continues. According to Building Department Director Bill Stephenson, as the Ashley Park Project in Newnan continues to progress, the LA-Z-BOY shop is currently under construction. Near LA-Z-BOY, is a structure identified as building 100. It is a 19,160 square-foot shell. The shell is designed for four separate tenants, but there are no confirmed tenants for that building at this time, per Stephenson.
