Join Carroll County Empty Bowls this Sunday to raise funds for the Carroll County Soup Kitchen. For the 20th year in a row Carroll County Empty Bowls has hosted the Empty Bowls event to help feed the hungry.
When: Sunday, February 25th, 2024, 11:00 – A. M. – 2:30 – P. M.
Where: Carroll County Agricultural Center, 900 Newnan Road, Carrollton
Cost: $15 per ticket for those ages 9 and above
Bring your friends and family to enjoy a silent auction, listen to live music, and experience a standard soup kitchen meal. Each ticket purchased also allows you to select a handmade bowl made and donated by local artists like Leonard McEwen and Suzanne Kleese-Stamps.
Individuals and companies can also become soup kitchen sponsors with a donation of $100 or more. Donations will be accepted either in person with checks or cash or via these online channels:

Joe Williamson, the Soup Kitchen’s treasurer, encourages people to volunteer during the event as well. “We always have so many people volunteer, but having more people is always a plus,” Williamson emphasizes.

Williamson points out that just one $15 ticket provides four meals at the Soup Kitchen. Since the Kitchen doesn’t have labor costs, all the funds raised go toward food and other supplies needed to run the charity. Williamson also adds that it is the Empty Bowls event that often funds up to thirty percent of the charity for the rest of the year.
“As grocery prices rise and wages don’t, we see more and more people needing assistance,” he states. “The soup, slice of bread, and glass of water that we serve at this event signify what our people get fed three times a week. It’s to show what we do with the funds.”
