Chief Dave Wade is pleased to announce the appointment of Tyler Sudduth as Deputy Chief of the Carroll County Fire Rescue Department, effective July 2, 2025.
A lifelong resident of Carroll County and 2006 graduate of Villa Rica High School, Deputy Chief Sudduth brings 19 years of dedicated service to his new role. He began his fire service career as a volunteer firefighter at Carroll County Fire Rescue Station 9 and has since risen through the ranks, holding positions including Firefighter, Engineer, Lieutenant, Captain, Battalion Chief, and most recently, Training Captain. His experience spans multiple departments, including Bremen Fire, Haralson County Fire, and Carroll County Fire Rescue.
Deputy Chief Sudduth holds an extensive list of certifications, including NPQ Firefighter I & II, NPQ Fire Officer I-IV, and NPQ Fire and Emergency Services Instructor I-III. He is also certified as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician. His specialized training includes Fire & Life Safety Education and a wide range of technical rescue disciplines such as Rope Rescue (Levels I & II), Trench Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Structural Collapse, and Swift Water Rescue. He holds additional certifications through the State of Georgia.
An active member of the fire service community, Deputy Chief Sudduth is involved with several professional organizations, including the Georgia F.L.A.M.E.S. Program, the Georgia Smoke Diver Association, the Georgia Search and Rescue Task Force 6, and the Georgia Firefighters Association.
He and his wife, Brandi, an educator at Providence Elementary School, reside in Carroll County with their two children, Cole and Lily. The Sudduth family are active members of Journey Fellowship Baptist Church.
