A new Dutch Bros Coffee location is being planned for the former Chick-fil-A property at 1205 AL-21 in Oxford, just south of Interstate 20 near Walmart, according to recently filed civil construction plans.
The project calls for the demolition of the existing building on the nearly 1-acre site and construction of a new 986-square-foot Dutch Bros Coffee drive-thru. Plans indicate the development will include 49 parking spaces and tie into existing utilities where possible.
Project documents describe the development as a standalone quick-service restaurant and note that there will be no significant change in site elevation. The redevelopment will slightly reduce the amount of impervious surface on the property compared to its current condition.
The site is located along Alabama Highway 21 in Oxford’s Area Shopping Center district, adjacent to one of the city’s busiest retail corridors near Walmart and Interstate 20.
While a construction timeline has not yet been announced, the plans represent the latest step toward bringing the fast-growing Oregon-based coffee chain to Oxford.
